    I am trying to create a table using a query, but that table is getting aborted due to spool space error. Then i created volatile table using the same query it worked. Please suggest as why there isnt spool issue with volatile tables and there is issue with actual table

      • Rashmirekha Sutar on November 9, 2018 at 2:35 pm

      create table is the physical table remains in DB forever and takes space.

      Volatile table as its name indicates remains active only for that session and vanishes after you log out or disconnect. So it doesn’t take any space in Database.

    In the above query which I had sent originaldata is not equal to 0 and sampledata is not equal to 0, but it printed as originaldata0 and sampledata0, please consider this correction.

    • Nandini on April 25, 2016 at 12:52 pm

    Hi

    select count(*) from sampletable where originaldata0 and originaldata is not null and sampledata0 and sampledata is not null and (originaldata/sampledata)>=1.

    In ‘sampletable’ I have these 2 columns where those column contains ‘Negative value,’ Null values’ and 0. I am getting divide by zero error.
    could you please help me out with this, how to replace or avoid this error so that I will get expected results and the datatype of those columns are ‘decimal’.

    CREATE SET TABLE edwDB.abc ,FALLBACK ,
    NO BEFORE JOURNAL,
    NO AFTER JOURNAL,
    CHECKSUM = DEFAULT

    Can someone explain what it means by NO BEFORE JOURNAL, NO AFTER JOURNAL and CHECKSUM = DEFAULT?

      • admin on September 20, 2015 at 1:20 am
        Author

      NO BEFORE JOURNAL stands for – we are not defining any permanent journal( which is a data protection feature) for before images of data.
      NO AFTER JOURNAL stands for – we are not defining any permanent journal for after images of data.
      CHECKSUM = DEFAULT – it is a way of checking data integrity between DISK input and output, that whatever data was written in DISK drive, same data we are retrieving back. DEFAULT in CHECKSUM stands for default setting whatever is defined in DBCS control utility.
